Affordable Truly wireless earphones are a possibility these days and the Realme buds Air & Boult Tru5ive are really promising options, so let’s compare them.

Firstly let’s talk about the design, Both these earphones have different design elements that fit different needs, So In order to talk about design, first let’s talk about comfort levels & ease of use to make things more understandable. The Boult Tru5ive has these fins which makes them near impossible to fall off our ears. Also, these fins come in different color options so you can customize them to your liking. These fins give a secure fit by latching onto your ear which inspires confidence, so you never have to worry about them falling off. But Realme buds Air, on the other hand, has this half in-ear style design, they don’t usually fall off but they definitely don't have the kind of secure fit that Boult does. Especially the left bud is something I struggle with, the right one is fine but the left one I keep adjusting it. But that said Boult Tru5ive ear tips are really annoying as they fall off pretty easily. Once you put em in they stay but the problem is while putting them on, the ear tips might fall off or while removing them the ear tips might stay in my ear. These things if they keep happening consistently can be very annoying over a period of time.

Next In terms of looks, Realme buds Air sometimes do look hideous & I always keep adjusting them. Boult has a more understated design which I personally like. So Taking all these things into consideration I personally would prefer Boult Tru5ive for its design & functionality. But design is not the only deciding factor right, So let’s also talk about battery life.

Realme buds Air lasted upwards of 2 hours & Boult Tru5ive lasted upwards of 2 & half hours. But Realme buds Air is ahead in terms of technology and future-proofing the device like having the Type - C port, wireless charging. These are incredible features for the price that you’re paying. The Realme buds Air charging case is smaller as well. Actually much smaller than Boult Tru5ive, makes it easy to carry. Realme’s case charges the buds faster as well whereas Boult’s case takes upwards of an hour to charge its earphones.

Boult Tru5ive has water resistance, it hasIPX5 rating, there is no official rating for Realme buds Air but they are sweatproof, so in my testing both held up pretty well in the gym even after an intense workout.

Next looking at the features, The Realme BudsAir has a plethora of features that Boult just couldn’t match. Realme buds Air has Dual mic noise canceling which is great during phone calls & it does a pretty good job of canceling ambient noise. Whereas Boult’s mic leaves a lot to be desired, it’s average at best. Realme buds Air has a lot more features like touch controls, an optical sensor for detecting whether earphone is in your ear and it also helps pauses the audio as well. Realme buds Air connect as soon as you open the case whereas for Boult you need to take out the earphones & it still takes 5-10 secs to connect, 5 secs if you’re lucky and usually it takes 10 secs. Like seriously by the time you connect BoultTru5ive earphones Realme buds Air pair’s & also connects, that’s how quick it is. Realme buds Air has a dedicated R1 chip which helps with latency, Testing the R1 chip with Pubg sort of felt like playing a new game. It definitely enhances your experience. But that said the R1 Chip drains the battery by a lot, So keep this in mind.

Taking all these things into consideration, it’s quite obvious that Realme buds Air are more seamless & effortless to use.

Now coming to Sound quality Realme buds Air sounds fuller & riches apart from that there isn’t much of a difference in sound quality between the two. Boult Tru5ive since they’re in-ear earphones, They have better noise isolation, but then again the difference is negligible.

Taking a look at the pricing, At the time of writing, this blog Boult Tru5ive is priced at ₹3000. And I’ve even seen them listed on Amazon for as low as ₹2600 and they come with a 1-year warranty. Realme buds Air is priced at ₹4000And it comes with 6 months of warranty.

All things considered, Realme is a better value for money proposition because you’re paying a premium for premium features, it’s as simple as that, and I can see everybody getting them. So taking the features, brand, after-sales support, and pricing into consideration Realme buds Air is a better choice. I would only recommend Boult Tru5ive if you're on a really tight budget.
